Internship Opportunity this Summer

The Pennsylvania Downtown Center (PDC) is interested in hiring student interns with backgrounds in landscape architecture, landscape contracting, horticulture, environmental science, urban planning and community/regional planning for a 10-week service learning internship this summer. Interns will help plan, design and install community-based revitalization projects in Pennsylvania. This year’s projects range from community gardens to pocket parks to residential landscaping demonstrations.
PDC is working with Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program to implement the 2009 Internship Program. Interns will receive project-specific training and orientation in Philadelphia, professional mentoring throughout the internship, summer housing (at no cost to the student) and a $2,750 stipend or scholarship.  Interested students may apply online at http://www.padowntown.org/programs/internship/apply.asp.
